Looking for a circa 1901 Ingersoll Yankee dollar pocket watch. It doesn't have to be in working order, there is a very good repair person nearby to me. I'm just looking for one that can be made to run for inclusion in an era package. Shoot me a PM if you have one or know of one available.
Thanks.
I don't know where to get one, though I see a fair few Yankee watches on ebay. I would love to get a Robert Ingersoll Dollar Watch to go with my Charles Ingersoll Dollar pen collection. It would have to be before Feb 1922 and the sale of the company to Ingersoll-Waterbury.
Good luck, and do show pictures when you get it!
John
Well, I did buy one off ebay that was touted as 1901 for parts. The innards, though, are patent stamped with '04 and the serial number places its manufacture in 1911. Close. But I need pre-1910, with 1901 preferred. I am keeping it, though. Doesn't mean the case isn't 1901, I'll have to have a watch repair/maker check it out. There seems to be plenty of pre-1922 dollar watches around. Will let you know if I spy one that may interest you.
