I've heard good things about all of the inks. I'm not too picky with colors, I'm just looking for a fast drying ink. Which ink do you prefer and why?

So far my favorites are Waterman's inks (Florida Blue and Havana Brown) because of the colors and the good flow in a fine nibbed pen. I've not used that many different inks so far so consider my comments accordingly.

Herbin inks tend to dry fast. Waterman inks flow well in almost any pen and are a good choice for any pen that is finicky.

I really like Waterman blue-black. I had terrible luck with Diamine Black Quartz and I've heard that others on FPN have had the same problem.

Greetings!
I just got a bottle of Black Quartz and this ink is made of NIGROSINE dye, this is a very common aniline dye that works fine in a lot of products but it's real bad to make fountain pen ink...I know by experience making my own inks..it's amazing that Diamine, an old ink maker, makes inks with this dye, that's life...
