A bit of fun.
I just won this from the dreaded for the princely sum of 99p. I love old CS pens, especially hard rubber materials, ripples in particular so this was a 'Must Watch'. I put in my usual derisory bid and (you can see why from the pic) this was enough.
But what is it?? I'm not sure if it had a clip to start with or whether its clipless. The lever is the 'flanged' type of lollipop lever (so is definitely made by CS) used the around the 1920s so being clipless would not be a surprise (if it had a clip it would been a fixed clip).
No idea what the nib is (apart from being mucky), no idea of the pen size.
I have two ideas for what pen it might be, what are yours?
I'll post mine in a day or so (before it arrives) and some better pics revealing the model number/name after it arrives.

Can't say for sure since the model # can't be seen--I can say tho',that it's made of mottled hard rubber.

Thanks, sumgaikid, you are correct , it is mottled, as opposed to 'ripple' as I described it.
Okay, It should arrive soon so this is what I think:
Its either a Universal or a Pixie. A 466M Universal or a 470M Universal to be specific, or a 353M Pixie.
All have the flanged lever, no clip, no bands and a section of a similar shape. Still can't really get an idea of its size though.
Hope its a Pixie, they don't often come up.
Any other ideas?

Well, its a ...
Universal 479M. Its lost its clip, I thought (hoped?) it was clipless.
I cleaned it up and its actually quite beautiful, the pattern colours are nice and deep and the surface smooth and glossy. I wonder that its been used much. Lots of black ink to clean off so its certainly has been.
Unfortunately its not just the cap that's suffered, the feed has been snapped (wasn't mentioned in the ad). These are mottled rubber feeds and so will be very difficult to replace. I spent a bit of time butchering it so the nib might work and as a dip pen (no suitable sacs at the moment) it works well. The No.1 nib needs setting properly on the feed as its a bit noisy on the paper (I had to straighten the tines a little, this can be further improved) but its pleasant enough. Quite stiff with some spring.
So there we are, I didn't have a Universal before, slightly disappointed its not a Pixie, rather more disappointed about the feed, pleased with the overall condition otherwise. I'll play a little more.
Anyone got a spare feed?
