Hello,

one question: what is the Wahl pen "diagnosed" bay "david i" with that abominable toxic keppe syndrome smile.gif? I had never seen that model before. Now that I fell in love with Skylines as I announced on the forum just a moment ago - this model looks like it is their sibling. Is it a worthy one? Or is it just another copy of Parkers vac duofold like Wearever pacemaker?

Thanks Zed

(Ok I ended up asking a few more questions but I hope you don't mind...)

The pen in question is the Eversharp Pacemaker. I always thought it funny that Wearever had a pen with the same name. The Pacemaker, when in sound condition, is a very handsome and duerable pen and nothing like a Wearever to my way of thinking. They were well made durable (except for the plastics problem that the browns and some greens had). The blue is a very good looking pen. The nibs are as good as on any other solid gold nib Wahl or Eversharps. The clip was a carryover from the Coronets. They date from around 1937 to 1939 or so. They were lever fillers only so not really a vac copy. I think you will see the evolution of the Pacemaker if you look at the Coronets first. The Pacemaker pencils are also a carryover from the coronet design. Pacemakers are cool!

Indeed, i am rather fond of the blue set in my collection. Here is the pen

I do note that one must watch for crazing with these. Those light pearly plasttics are at risk. Often looking at very ends is key.

And, Whilst i cannot comment on Syd's way of thinking, i do note at least one similarity between Wearever Pacemaker and Wahl Pacemaker... stripes.

Hello Syd,

thanks for the en enlightening answer. And starting new thread on the pen, because it really is untalked about pen. This is strange because it seem of comfortable size too as I gather from Pen Hero's Article. I really have to have a look around the internet whether there is a nice sample to be had for money...

Zed

(ps I wonder, is there a vintage pen that David has no ready pictures of???)
