I am looking for a shade of blue ink that is "Bulletproof," and Noodler's "Upper Ganges Blue" caught my attention. Has anyone here dealt with this ink? If so, how is the shading of blue compared to other inks? Also, what are the flow charactertics of this ink?

Thank you! smile.gif

They look pretty much the same to me, but LB has more of a "sheen" that can't be seen in this scan:

I use both. UGB mostly for mixing with other colors, and LB straight. I love both these inks!

P.S. By the way, the first "Upper" was written by mistake in Legal Lapis.

Upper Ganges Blue has the cost advantage over Luxury Blue.

I like the flow, the shade, and the saturation of Upper Ganges Blue. It is a blue that I could be satisfied with if I only wanted to have one blue ink. I like the shade better than blues like Lamy, Pelikan, and Skrip Blue. I like Waterman's Florida Blue, Noodler's Ottoman Azure Blue and Luxury Blue better. Luxury Blue is the only one that is also bulletproof. If I used a lot of ink, I would buy the Upper Ganges Blue instead of Luxury Blue because of the price difference. I like having both.

How quickly does Upper Ganges Blue dry? I've been thinking of getting a bottle, but I like something that dries quickly.

Good question, I would be curious to know this myself. smile.gif

It dries more quickly than the average ink. I think you will be pleased with the drying time. I like this ink, but the color seems too faded for me. However, I just mix it with 50% DC Supershow blue for a nice bulletproof blue. smile.gif
