Hello,
until very recently I could not push myself to give some $200 plus for a moire skyline with an ink-view section and flexible nib. And I did not feel like giving $40 plus for a skyline in some boring version just to see how it is to write with one for prolonged time either.
But recently I managed to get one a very nice green moire one with an ink-view section and super-flex nib for about $140. And I am in love. It really is a wonderful pen! And the nib! Although it is rather small it is definitely one of the best I have tried - even compared to nibs on much more expensive pens, or on much older and thus also more fragile pens that could not be used as everyday writers...
I am now determined to get all the moire colours with the ink-view sections and super-flex nibs (which do not seem to be uncommon on these pens) in various grades. I guess, I thus open my third pen collecting theme: besides the late OS Sheaffer balances and the BHR "5" line of Watermans (that is all the Watermans with #5 nibs) I am going to collect moire coloured Skylines. Sounds good, does it not? But where to get the money, as I am sure the red or blue versions do not come cheap...,?
Well, I better stop this rather pathetic post here, before I start offering you my Aurora Optima's and other pens for an exchange... I guess that is matter of an other forum and post, or rather a matter of editing one other post of mine...(for the curious ones I mean this one: [post="WTT My Aurora Optimas & 14k Pel M800"]http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57699[/post])
In fact, I just wanted to let FPN know that Wahl-Eversharp Skylines really are fantastic pens!
Best, Zed
