English is wack!

Yo, and I was going to say something about a dam-building furry animal that gets a lot of attention in or near Brazil... something like that. Don't want to get into trouble, though.

I was just searching around on the web and stumbled accross this store which will make personalized seals. http://theattic.stores.yahoo.net/index.html

I use red sealing wax by J. Herbin.

I even seal in a little cut of ribbon for added effect and I haven't experienced any problems with it going through the post at all. (See picture below).

Incidentally the pen is a Platignum Streamline that I picked up in an antique shop for £3.00 (about $6.00).

I don't believe then pen is too old but if anyone knows anything for sure please do let me know.

The ribbon is a lovely idea and seems to match the wax color perfectly. It adds a regal air of some sort.

Has anyone tried to make their own sealing wax? I am curious to try it, but don't want to be poisoned by toxic fumes from melting down plastic!

The Postoffice (and the letter-sorting-machines) never had a problem with any of my wax sealed envelopes (flexible wax)...
But now I don't seal the envelope, I just seal the letter and put them in an envelope... i had a very nice signet (20 mm) but I
sold it again... now i'm looking for something new...

Just caught sight of that Maker's Mark sealing wax. To think I've consumed GALLONS of that fine bourbon and they've never given me such a handsome gift. I need to inquire!

I thought she meant removing seals from the stocks.

Yes ribbon is a very nice idea, I don't have much though, just some brown ribbon I saved off some boxes of chocolates at Christmas. I love that seal sk2yshine, it looks very authentic, what I mean is it looks like it is straight out of history, if you get what I am saying.

That is a beautiful seal. Is it a bespoke engraved seal?
