I have this ink in two pens and it gummed them both up. Does any have a pen that flows well with this ink.
If so, please let me know the name of the pen. I do not want to go through all my pens. And I hate to throw away ink.

Thanks for your help.

Did you do a complete and very clean flush of the pens before you put the Baystate Blue in them...
Baystate Blue does not play well with other inks or ink residue.... it has been known to gum up when mixed with other inks...
In fact, Nathan mentioned that problem in his release of the ink....
You have to totally clean your pens to the point of absolutely no ink residue whatsoever.
Even if not using an ink that does not play well with others, when changing inks I always give my pens a complete cleaning and drying.

Running just fine in a Pelikano Jr, an Aldo Domani ($19 from Office Depot), currently. Have used it in my Pilot/Namiki Knight and horrors, for the purists, used it in a Vintage Parker 21. All are still working fine. It didn't gum up in any of them. As a matter of fact I left the Pelikano unused for two weeks to see what would happen. I pulled the cap off and it wrote on the first stroke. Maybe I'm just lucky but I have not had any problems with BSB. Now I do flush and clean most of my pens weekly.

I have it in an Aurora Style Med nib and it's writing flawlessly. I have stored the pen nib up for up to three days without writing and it lays down a nice wet line on first try.

I have BSB in a Sheaffer Balance II Aspen for weeks now. No problems

Working fine in a Pilot Prera (fine nib.) I originally bought a brand new Lamy Vista for it, but the nib unit veritably disintegrated after 4 days yikes.gif - I sent it back to Lamy; that had to be a faulty product. Will see what they say. hmm1.gif

It's been loaded in a Duke "Golden Rings" for about a week now with no problems. Not only that, but the ink alone makes it my second best writing pen, the ink made a drastic change as to how smooth the nib writes and fixed the complaints I had before about skipping and overall flow.

Baystate Blue is doing fine in one of my Osmiroid 65s with an (M) italic nib since Feb. 15th. (I've refilled it twice.) It also did well in a Sheaffer School Pen. It did not do well in an Esterbrook--it didn't want to write the day after filling, so I immediately emptied and cleaned it.

I've had it in a Sheaffer Imperial (stub nib) for several weeks, and in a Lamy Safari (1.1mm nib) for a week with zero problems.

I am thinking about buying a bottle of BSB, mostly just to try it out. Thanks for the advice on washing out the pen completely before filling it. I will make sure to do so. smile.gif

It has been working well for weeks now in my Parker 51. I did give it a good flush before I added the BSB, however.

It did not work so well with my Montblanc 32, which had difficulty starting after a few days without use. At this time I am using BSB only in my Parker 51.

I made the experience that vintage MBs (22, 32, 252, 14) are very picky about ink. Now I use Diamine or Waterman and they behave much better.

As I said in another topic titled something like "Pelikano Loves Baystate Blue" that continues to be the case, and I have just refilled it again with more.

I picked up a bottle to try it out and have thus far only loaded it in the Platinum Preppy eyedropper Nathan included with the big bottle and thus far it has written just fine. The color is quite interesting - looks very much like Waterman Florida Blue when FB is still wet, but then as the FB dries it dulls a little bit, whereas the BSB stays more or less the same color. Quite eye popping and in the disposable Preppy it is a very nice substitute for an inexpensive rollerball. I've thoroughly flushed my Pilot Murex and will load BSB in that next. I have the old CON20 converter so there are not parts or clear pieces to stain and I figure the surgical stainless steel of the Murex is about as stain resistant a pen as you can have. Plus I'm curious to see how it looks, the Murex has such a fine, medium wet line that many inks look quite faded when running through it so I'm hopeful this deep rich color will be a good match. I believe someone else is using BSB in either a MYU or a Murex will very good results - can't remember who it was but it was mentioned on another BSB thread.
