I flushed out my Visconti Opera last night, and filled it this morning with Noodler's Squetegue.

I LOVE this ink. I've only written with it a little so far, but I'm definitely going to buy some. I got one of the tiny bottles in Pear Tree's sampler program. The color is beautiful, and it's so smooth. I was using Parker Squink, blue-black, and was having a problem with skipping when I made a horizontal line. Crossing a "t" was nearly impossible.

I just got my first FP in December (Pelikan Pura), and my second a few weeks ago (the Visconti), so I'm not all that experienced yet. I had some trouble when first trying to fill the Visconti with the Noodler's, due to the size of the nib relative to the top of the small bottle. Some careful tipping of the bottle helped, although I couldn't get the nib all the way in.

So far I've used the blue-black Squink (it's okay), Pelikan blue-black (really like it, although it's quite grey), and Levenger gemstone green. I don't like the gemstone green at all. Unfortunately, I bought a 12 pack of cartridges at a great price. I don't think I'll use more than the one I currently have in my Pelikan. Probably won't even use all of that. I've also found that I prefer filling from a bottle, rather than using a cartridge.

So there's my ink of the day. I'm really loving it!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I've been eye-balling this color for quite awhile now. I've caught up on the special Noodler's inks that I've been wanting, so when I order some more, I'll make sure to pick this one up. Thanks again.

Can you send us a photo of the ink?

How do you find the drying time for the Squetegue? I really like the color, but find that it dries VERY slowly. It is the slowest drying ink that I have.

I find that it dries pretty fast on both Moleskine and Rhodia. I'll try to make time to get an image scanned tonight. On the Moleskine it shows through the other side a little. Not a full bleed, with wet ink on the other side, you can just see the writing showing through a little.

Squetegue is one of my favorite Noodler's color. Check out Zhivago too.
