Full Version: Ink for Platinums

Greetings,
I have three Platinum pens, none of which works very well. Erratic performance at best; then skipping. A good cleaning has not made the difference. Assuming all three nibs are not at fault, I suspect a different ink is called for. Is there consensus on the best ink for Platinums? Are they known to prefer wetter inks?
Thanks!

I'm surprised the Platinums aren't working. My experience has always been great with these pens.

Try Platinum Blue-Black if you can. The color is nice and it is highly waterproof. The flow is also good. If that doesn't work, the problem is probably with the pens.

Platinum BB is one of my go-to inks. It's well behaving, and I agree with Martius on flow, colour, and water resistance.

However, if you're having trouble with your current Platinum pens, you may want to fill them with either Waterman Florida Blue or Waterman Blue-Black. Both are good for testing purposes. If your pens won't work with either one, the problem is likely not with the ink then but with the pens themselves. Hope that helps.
