I bought a never opened (I think) bottle of Sanford's Pen-it Permanent Royal Blue ink. It's pretty old, but everything looks very clean and clear inside. So, my plan is to use it. It's very blue from what I can tell from holding it up to the light.
My question is: anybody ever use this? Can someone tell me anything about this particular ink? Wet? Dry? Dries red?! Doesn't dry at all?! Anything at all. Is anyone STILL using it?
Just curious, mainly. I'm going to put it something.

thanks,
jbb
I got a few bottles on ebay last year with some ink remaining and used them. I don't remember much but they were fine. The bottles are a great size (did you get those little bottles?) for mixing other ink colors once you're done with the ink it came with.

About using old inks, from what I read on Pendemonium's web site.

Look at the ink first. If there is scum floating on top or precipitates on
the bottom, don't use it. If it looks like the ink has seriously discolored,
then don't use it. Allegedly blue and blue black are likely to survive
better than some other colors.

Anyhow, the points about scum or serious color changes over time
could also apply to inks that aren't 20 or 30 years old, too. eureka.gif
