Hi,

This is my first post here, but I have been impressed with the posts I have read here.

I am a collector of various brands. Initially Pelikan new & old, then S.T. Dupont. Now I am into the asian brands - Namiki and Dani Trio.

Look foward to exchanging ideas.

Welcome to FPN! Glad you found us and decided to join up. Love to hear what you've got in your collection. Lot of Pel, DT, and Namiki fans here (some DuPont also). See you around.

Hi Ron,

Welcome to our (not-so)humble abode. smile.gif I'm a Pelikan addict with Namiki VPs a close second. So you'll find a lot of references to these pens (and many others of course) here on FPN.

Hope you enjoy the group and i look forward to future posts.

So your FPN nickname is "leicalvr"? Does that mean you also use/collect Leica's?

At one point I was considering starting a used camera collection, but I realized that it was going to be WAY too expensive of a hobby. Pens are a lot more realistic! biggrin.gif

In any case, welcome to FPN!

Hi Ron,
Welcome to FPN! biggrin.gif

My husband is getting into old cameras (specifically older rangefinders) so I'm not the only collector in the family anymore... laugh.gif

Nice to have you on board. Enjoy!!

interesting camera talk..

i have managed to "collect" about 20 old cameras because I once expressed to my grandmother that if she ever got rid of her Brownie, i'd take it. Now I think i have 6 versions of the Brownie among the other cameras. I know next to nothing about them. Love the "portable" one I have that opens up and pulls the bellows out with it at the same time. Several are movie cameras. But i've never bought or attempted to add a camera to the collection. They just seem to appear. Grandparents, in-laws, etc. I have a tiny little camera that belonged to my dad at some point. It's just mini though if there was film for it I'm sure it would work (if poorly).

At any rate - welcome to FPN, you'll find we chatter about many things here as well as our love of pens and related stuff.

a photo taken hastily and in bad light... the Mycro camera, A speeno uncapped (but not "telescoped") and a beat up US Quarter

Interesting camera KC - my guess is that it's a 1/2 frame 35 mm - but I am just guessing.

Know anything about it?

not a clue other than it's been in my possession about 25 years and was made in Japan. Shutter still works, f-stop imprints are barely visible. i'm surprised the shutter hasn't siezed or something as it hasn't exactly been treated with kid gloves. smile.gif

Hmmmm, from the angles of the quarter and the camera it's pretty hard to tell, but on reflection, if the quarter is about equal to the height of the body, it would have to use 16mm film, not 35.

An early 'spy' camera perhaps wink.gif

Ah, yes - http://mycro.jp/en/index.html

Looks like the I or II model

Hello Ron and welcome to the Fountain Pen Nuthouse biggrin.gif I am sure that you will love it here and gain a lot of knowledge about pens, and maybe even attend a few pen shows.

I too love to collect vintage cameras and have a collection of several Argus models from the 1930s into the mid-1950s. Gotta love retro technology!

Welcome aboard and...

Happy Holidays!! biggrin.gif

My goodness - where are my manners... Welcome Ron. Hope you'll enjoy the FPN.

Looking forward to your posts.
