For reasons I won't go into, I now have a "big red"-colored Waterman Phileas with an intact cap, barrel, and section, but no feed or nib. huh.gif

Since I don't like letting things go to waste, can anyone think of something constructive I can do with this nib-less pen?

Hi,

Try talking to Waterman customer service, they might well be able to sell you a feed and nib, you might have to buy an entire front section, or you could try fellow FPN member J.M.Lewertowski he might have a Phileas nib unit sitting in a box somewhere he seems to have more stock than Watermans of many items plus he is cheaper and easy to do business with, IF JML can't help he might know someone who can.

Cheers, John

Hi,

Unfortunately the WATERMAN parts are very expensive and I think that it will be better to buy a new pen than only the PHILEAS nib section, it will be aproximatively the same price, J.M.L.

Use it to carry spare cartridges for your NEW Waterman? roflmho.gif

I have a red Waterman Phileas with an M nib that you're welcome to have. I've sent you a PM. Reply by email if you want the Phileas.

Hello girlieg33k,

That's real nice of you. I actually don't need to replace the Phileas, since I have several other fountain pens anyway. I appreciate the offer, though. I just posted this topic since I was wondering if there was anything I could use the pen for now that the nib is gone. biggrin.gif

Well... since WaffleKing refused...

girlieg33k, I'd love to have the red Phileas. I love these pens... already have a green and blue, so red would be perfect. Thank you embarrassed_smile.gif

Back on topic... maybe you can start a nibless Waterman collection rolleyes.gif

Mount it in the style of a fishing trophy, with a little brass plaque underneath reading: CAVE PLUMAM. Or CAUE PLUMAM, if you want to avoid thinking in a subterranean direction. Either way, hang it in a prominent location as an aid to mindfulness wink.gif

No worries... PaulGeo just claimed it. He can thank you as well, then, yea? As to what you can do with a pen without a nib, I suppose you can always sell it/give it away for parts. Or, you can try to fit a crayon in the hole. Fun way to colour! Time to MacGyver it, I think! Lots of possibilities... smile.gif

A Waterman Phileas with an intact cap, barrel, and section, but no feed or nib. What to do with it, you throw it away! It's a friggin' $25.00 pen Go buy a new one at Office Depot. headsmack.gif This is like asking where to take an old keyboard to get it repaired when the keys start breaking. The cost of a new one is so low the object is really disposable.
