There's a thread in the marketplace forum regarding the Citroenpers. I do not have one, but because of the thread, I was able to order one which is on it's way. A real decent price for an LE. Don't know how many Aldert has left, but it seems like there's a newfound interest in these.

I ordered mine today along with the book. I knew i had seen a picture of them somewhere but a search online revealed almost no information on them, as if they didn't exist or something.
I was pleasantly surprised to get one from the source, as i know this pen is so rare that you cant even find it on ebay or any of the regular pen sources one could think of. Only 1,200 ever made so they must be spread thin throughout the world.
I will definately write with mine once in a while, but due to the extreme rarity of this pen (way less than even the "limited edition" pens out there) it will be a once in a while event and will definately be a stay at home pen, and when not in use its going into my bank safety deposit box.

Citroenpers Pen arrived today in a simple box ~ no pack drill, no paperwork & not sure which number to read as the issue number I assume its the white sticker
This is the first Pelikan I've seen in real life so don't know much ... When I tried to screw the piston down a brown "washer" came off the end of the piston & stayed near the nib end & won't move back with the piston.
Is this a seal? should I be concerned about it?
I haven't dipped or inked but have tried washing with a soapy water solution & then flushed this out with plain water ~ the "washer" hasn't moved back
Filled with water there are no signs of leaks.
I don't want to ink until I am sure
Would appreciate a bit of advice
Many Thanks

There are actually two listed on ebay right now. I'd been watching item 290217030415 before the FS thread, and it's still got 6 days to go on the auction. Then today, I found item 170204243815.

Have Fun:
I have an M205 demo and the piston is clearly (no pun) visible, which gives me some clues as to what you might be up against. The piston hits the inside of the barrel in three places - I do not know if there are three "washers" (rings?) that make up the piston, or if it is one piece. It seems from your description that there is more than on piece, that maybe there are three washers that make up the piston head and one of yours fell off?
You really need the advice of someone who has dismantled one of these things. Maybe Rick Propas?

I wouldn't class this pen as extremely rare at all. They pop up on eBay and Martini Auctions regularly enough, and many FPN members have them - FPN member HyperCamper bought some in bulk and shipped out probably a few dozen to interested FPN folk.
1200 is still a large run. Japanese manufacturers like Sailor regularly produce editions of less than 300 for their domestic market - and those pens have gold nibs.

Not exactly the 3 rings are visible & black .. what I call the "washer" is slightly brown in colour & travelled down in front of with the first of the plunger rings & then detached itself
as I said there are no leaks when filled with water & nothing comes out if I shake the pen, so I guess its safe enough but it was / is just a bit disconcerting especially not having seen these pens before

the Limited Quantity is about average for pelikan special editions I came across this site yesterday which lists various issues from small 4-500 up to a few thousand

I would be. Sounds like a bit's come loose. Nothing should be left behind when you turn the piston back to fill the pen.

i still haven't filled mine. Maybe someday it will end up in the Market place when there really is a larger demand for it. Or maybe by then I will have decided it's too special to get rid of. I don't know why I can't ink this pen and it's the only pen I've ever owned that I can't bring myself to ink. That's not healthy.

I know it was a combined promotion commission but it must have taken a lot of capital to put it together - even taking into account that 6 years ago these pens were cheaper & no doubt he had them at around wholesale discount value (whatever % that is) but it still must represent a sizeable sum to shell out.
But it has got me thinking in terms of the numbers of members here & whether a similar club deal could be put together for those interested... provided it wasn't a committee decision ... otherwise a herd of camels would be produced.

That sounds like a great idea, i would love to own a
Fountain Pen Network Pelikan M200, if only
I can only dream what that would be like.

in early discussions of FPN pens there was the idea of getting an existing 200 engraved. Some people complained about the small size of the 200 (hmph!) and others thought it just wasn't distinctive enough.
Neat idea - even if it's just having custom bindes made.

200 series are small, but post very well and writes so good that the size can be ignored.
citroenpers is beautiful, but the cap end (new design) disturb me, because it is black

Well, let them complain. One of these days i will have a few engraved "Fountain Pen Nework" and hold ome sort of a trivia contest. Whoever guesses the answers right will get a free pen. I warn you though, they wont be easy questions that one can simply google up! Just a heads up.

When I suggested the idea I wasn't just thinking of having the pen inscribed ~ I wouldn't favour that idea at all. It also was not the intention to restrict it to purely Pelikan but I've since learned that a similar idea was promoted last year on FPN though I haven't seen a photo of the pen. ~ My intention was to get a distinctive limited edition commissioned (perhaps from a number of manuf's) & the design / colour / material should be unique, (although inscriptions could be offered at a buyers request.)
I would have thought with the numbers of members on this forum an edition of say 500 upward would be fairly interesting to a manufacturer & to the forum members especially if it represented good value compared to the stock pens offered.
The Pelikan Citroenpers design meets all these goals with the M200 & shows that it is achievable.
We have enough talent on this forum to indicate the potential colour & hue of the pen via computer graphics so a reasonable facsimile could be drawn up.

I was just saying what had gone on before. I dunno if 500 is realistic or not. But then again, we didn't have over 13K members when the first FPN pen was done. So maybe it is. I would *think* that a custom binde would certainly be something that could be accomplished. One issue would be - would it be a custom binde done by Pelikan or someone in the community who does such things.

Well speaking for myself it would be price dictated ~ whatever method proves the cheapest ~ eg I would not be able to put my name down for a full cost M600 / 400
but an M200 is quite attractive with the ability to upgrade nibs to 400 later
The minimum quantity has to be established .. I imagine it should be fairly easy to get an answer from Pelikan & other manuf's
Anyone have a photo of the FPN pen ? it sounded very good.
