Hi everybody,

I've been unsuccessfully looking for a comparison of Sailor F, MF and M nibs. I had a look on the review database, but there isn't there what I'm looking for (a lot of great reviews, but pictures of writing samples are quite rare).

And on the web, there are some informations like on nibs.com with width of the nibs, but no real writing samples with horizontal lines, vertical lines, loops and words... And the last page of the Sailor catalogue show us some pictures, but it doesn't look "real"

So could someone here who owns different nibs post a comparative writing sample ? It would be really helpful !

Many thanks

PS : I received my Sapporo Rhodium with M nib yesterday, it writes like a dream ! wub.gif

Well, here, I'll contribute some of mine - F and M only - I am on the hunt for the elusive MF now smile.gif Both photos are clickable if someone has the urge to go to "all sizes" at Flickr. Both samples are on Clairefontaine paper. The Diamine sapphire is showing up much darker than usual, and the violette pensee much lighter, so I didn't know how to approach colour adjustment. Oh well.

This first one has some other pens - but it might be helpful for those who have asked on other threads about the Pelikan-Sailor comparison:

and, just the Sailors:

Here's a quick comparison I did of my Sapporo F v. Sapporo MF v. Phileas F and I threw in a Binder needlepoint

There must have been blue residue in the Phileas. I cleaned it but apparently not enough. So the Ink looks strange but the line is a valid representation of most inks in this pen.

First pic is full image, second is zoomed to give a little more detail in line difference (hopefully) To my eye - especially IRL - the MF falls very neatly between the Sailor Fine and the Phileas Fine. I should have included a Pelikan Fine which is fatter than the Phileas. It's pretty much in a linear progression (Binder needlepoint, Sapporo F, Sapporo MF, Phileas F, Pelikan F)
My apologies for the scrawl.

Thanks KCat ! It's very helpful !

Well, I'm not sure I should thank you coz now I WANT a MF nib! I shouldn't have signed up on this board a couple of month ago... headsmack.gif
