I've been using the cartridges in my Aurora Talentum since my Florida trip back in October, and they are working very well. (Haven't tried it from the bottle yet.)
I think I like this ink even more than Aurora black. It flows very well, and it has an oily black look to it. IMO, it performs almost like a vintage blue-black -- seems to have a tint of blue to it while wet.

Last fall someone reported that Quink Black had a blue tint, and that intrigued me. You're the second one to report that.
However, others have reported having problems with Quink Black, but I don't remember whether it was clogging or some other problem.

I don't know that it does on paper, but the stuff on the lid when I open my bottle is blue tinged.....but if you get it wet, there seems to be a lot of yellow, too.

I've seen too many flow issues -- especially in pens like the Parker 75 -- to be confident that Quink Black is a good ink in the long term.
As for the color, there's no such thing as a true black dye, so different manufacturers achieve a black appearance by mixing various recipes of other colors.

Thanks, all, for responding!

My Talentum's a flawless performer anyway, but I was amazed at the wetness of this ink, and how well it flowed on initial start-up after the pen sat unused, sometimes for three days. Perhaps my good experiences have to do with the ink being from cartridges. I had heard of Quink, but wasn't aware that this was it!

In a word...no. Quink Black is "demon ink" IMO. Oh, so many other good choices out there. Branch out, my man!

Actually, I really like Quink Black. It is a generic black ink, but I get really good flow from it and I haven't had any problems.

I don't mind this ink, but there are better. Aurora and Noodler's blacks are better in most respects, I think. I do like the vague blue-green tint to Quink black, however.
It's interesting that Richard mentioned that there are clogging issues with this ink. I might pass on another bottle after this one runs dry.

Quink is OK, but I strongly prefer Noodler's Black.
I have two bottles, one at least 20 years old, the other new. The new one is blacker, the old one is really gray ink.

I like Quink Black too. But sometimes it flows too well.

I tried Parker Quink Permanent Black twice, and did not like the flow results at all. I do however, like their regular blue ink very much. It flows very nicely in my Waterman Phileas.

I use the Parker Quink permanent black on a almost daily basis in my (modern) Parker Duofold. I've tried many different brands of black, but I always find that I fall back to the Quink in the end. I think it's a very good "true" black, it doesn't have any bad habbits like nib creep, the flow is good and it dryes pretty quickly which is good for my note taking during meetings.
I gave the "washable" black and blue a try, but I didn't fancy them at all. The colors are to "washed out" for my taste.
I mainly use the cartridges in my Parker pen, but every now and then I fill up one of my other pens with the bottled Quink as well

Kind regards,
Karl

Parkers washable inks are a joke and fade at an uncanny rate. AS for Quink Black I poured the remains of mine down the sink, I didn't find the flow to be that great, in fact I mixed it with Watermans Flordia Blue to get it to flow better. For black I go for either registrars ink, but most often it is Cross's black I use, which I believe is made by Pelikan, and I have been told is generally accepted to be the best black, for colour anyway, and the flow is excellant. I don't use Parker ink at all really, even in my Parker 51 I have Pelikans black.
