Full Version: Well it's Esterbrook-ish?

I just put together this Osmiroid pen with a renew-type nib.
I got both the body and the nib for free.

The body was just a gift and the nib was in a bin of broken pen stuff at the
local "Memory Market" store and the woman didn't charge me for just the nib.

I think it's close to an Osmiroid 75, but it's a lever filler, so I'm not sure...
The nib is an really fine Osmiroid "Spencerian" (can't remember how to spell it).

I'd just like a little more information about it if possible, or at least help pointing me
towards somewhere with some Osmiroid information to help me possibly
date the pen (body or nib) or at least give me a clue on the date?

I know, I know, I'm asking a lot at once, so I don't expect answers quick, if at all.
I'm not even 100% sure this is being posted in the right category,
but it was the best place I could think of for it, being a renew-type nib.

(apologies for kinda cruddy pics, camera isn't the best)

p.s. please don't kill me for this post lol

The pen is an Osmiroid 65. See this post in the Penmanship forum where I've pictured the copperplate nib. The ad is from the 1970s. I bought my pens like that in the 70s, too, but they may have been out for awhile before that.

It will happily swap points with Esterbrooks, too-- I've a few of each, and they're quite promiscuous. Free is a darn good price. thumbup.gif The 65s of that vintage I've got have a screw-down section, so it's easy to access the sac-- in a couple of cases, it's something very similar to Parker's "pli-glass", so it should last a VERY LONG time.

Thanks for the info! It's good to know what model of Osmiroid it is at least!

I wonder about the "Spencerian" nib.
