I just finished this one for a friend. The jade is vintage material that I scrounged from a broken cap. Filled in the breather holes and...

And here's an 800 of mine that has a "new" lizard binde. The lizard is new to this pen, but the material itself is probably sixty or seventy years old.

And here is a shot that I took while I was playing around...

As beautiful as ever, Chris. In fact, I think that the jade binde is the nicest that I've seen you produce.

Hi Chris,
The new lizard binde looks drool.gif great. Can't stop drool.gif'ing biggrin.gif and your Graf von Faber-Castell looks great too.How is the pen?Are you happy with it?Faber-Castell's are very underrated pens.Though GvFC's aren't cheap here.

Thanks Neil. I like this one too. I think it's the fact that the material is vintage celluloid. It just seems to fit.

I like the GvFC, but the nib is a little skippy on the down strokes. It's been sitting in my pen cup and at some point I'll pull it out and fix it. Aside from that I really like the pen. What I'd really like to do is get one of the sterling silver models and sleeve that. Problem is I can't figure out how to get it apart, nondestructively. biggrin.gif And they're too expensive to break.

Do you have have any GvFC's? Which, if any, and how do you like them?

beautiful pics and bindes, chris. do you have any jade material left? and would it be sacrilege to put it on a modern m1000?

Hi Dave,

I have a modern jade that's big enough to do a 1000. It is the same stuff that Sheaffer used for their Balance II a few years back. Here it is one a vintage 100:

Unfortunately I don't have any vintage stock that's big enough for a 1000. I get most of it from broken Duofold barrels, and they're too small for a 1000 by about 0.05".
