Well I thought I was awaiting the news that my Dolce Vita OS was en route, but just received an email from my supplier, of which this is an extract:

"I don't like to send on pens -- even if factory sealed as this one was -- without examining and adjusting the nib prior to shipping, as I want the pen to be ready to write without any adjustment on the part of the customer. In my experience, close to 90% of the pens I receive -- from all manufacturers -- require some adjustment on my part before I send them on their way.

Your pen took the prize! :-) The nib was only halfway inserted into the section, causing it to jam into the cap top. Further, the rubber gasket that fits onto the threads of the section -- and allows the pen to function as an eyedropper -- had a split in it, which would have caused leakage upon first filling with ink, should you have used it in that fashion.

The good news is that YAFA *does* have another Fine nib and section, and they will be shipping it out to me (hopefully today). So, we still should get your pen on its way to you this week."

So I suppose I could say I am likely to be waiting a while longer...... does Delta (or Visconti) understand the concept of Quality Control?

I THOUGHT I was still waiting for my dark blue Sailor 1911, XF nib, to return from the pen
spa of Chez Mottishaw, after going for recovery from an unfortunate nib-first tabletop
encounter. But, UPS delivered today, so, not waiting anymore, except to decide what
ink to use... rolleyes.gif

Two Parker 45s to add to my little "fleet o' 45s"...one in the lighter green with lustraloy cap and silver trim, the other the darker green and my first GOLD CAP 45.

Editorial comment: It's annoying when some eBay sellers wait two weeks for a $13 check to come, and clear...oh well. I have certainly enjoyed the widespread atmosphere of trust here on FPN.

My Glenmonts have arrived. All I can say is very very nice.

I went on a spree of sorts around my birthday a few weeks ago. They were all inexpensive pens won on eBay. Still waiting for:

Duke Beijing Opera Rhythm (the cheaper version that's mostly black)

Hero (not sure what model number, but it appears to be flowered)

Jinhao Carnation

These are all from international sellers, so I may be waiting a bit longer. Also, I'm not buying any more pens for a while because I'm saving for a Sailor Naginata.

I have ordered 3 pens from China, total cost $20 including shipping (!), sold through an Ebay shop with names like Black Shiny Excutive Pen, another that looks like a 51 and I cant remember the third. I am working on the basis that its not a lot of money and if one of them can be lent out to a convert then its no bad thing

Reality bites!

I'm still waiting for the Sailor Sapporo F nib. Turns out to be out of stock; just my luck......a delay for a few days.

(In the meantime I have ordered 4 x Apica CD15 all the way from Paris, and wondered if Sailor Brown comes as cartridges etc etc...)
Bill Grass
Vintage Sheaffer Balance coming to me soon! cool.gif
Bill J
I am waiting for this Marxton that was discovered recently on a friend's work desk.

The pen is essentially new and has a flexible fine oversize 1940's Waterman's Emblem nib. I traded a Parker Duofold for a pristine Sheaffer OS Balance in the green striped color, a pen I've been lusting for some time and this Marxton. The Balance is already here, so I can't say I'm waiting for it. rolleyes.gif

Cheers,

I'm waiting for 2 vintage Pelikans, a 400 NN from the 1950s & a 400 from the 1980s. I'm holding off mailing a package of other pens to Binder until after these vintage pens arrive as I may be adding them to the package (for nib smoothing). Which means, of course, a long wait until I see them again, but it'll be worth it.
Reid
Waithing for a Waterman Phileas F that I got on ebay and a Lamy Safari charcoal - love the 'blacked out' look of that pen .. sort of a 'stealth bomber' look.
Sailor Kenshin
I just went to Jetpens, so now I'm waiting for several colorful, inexpensive, totally kawaii pens to arrive---Pilots, mostly.

The 51 burgundy arrived and works fine.
And yesterday my 400 returned from Pelikan. Fixed and nicely polished as SERVICE! They did not charge anything for repairing the leaking piston. Thanks a lot! thumbup.gif

Has anyone got their new FPs in the mail yet........or should I be looking at the 'what pen did you get today?' thread? blush.gif

No........two, the Bexley from Germany & Sailor(UK), are still 'in the post', and my two 'Europeans from America'(DolceVitaOS, Duofold Intl.) are with the Spanish Customs.

So I could possibly have 4 more pens this week.

.....Make that five...I won a Delta Alfa Romeo Giulietta off ebay(uk) ......I coveted the Alfa Giulietta when I was an early teenager, but I guess this is the nearest I'll get to ever owning one smile.gif

I received my Rotring Lissabon (sweet writer, glad I purchased another), still awaiting my Pelikan M625.

Tony the Tiger
I'm waiting on a Waterman Carene, the Amethyst Bronze color, w/ a F nib. Have been wanting a Carene almost as soon as I got into this hobby, and I was able to win this one on eBay for a really good price. I plan on filling it w/ Stipula Sepia ink.

An old and a new Waterman's

The old - an oversize 100 year pen with semi flex '18' nib.

The new - a Diamond Black Edson with fine nib.

the Edson will be my first modern Waterman's since I acquired a Man 100 with a medium nib in about 1997.It is still one of my favourites

I can't wait to try the Edson.

Want to see?

These are some kawaii things from Jetpens, mostly different colored Pilot Petits and a couple of Preppy pens with cool Japanese writing on them, about five characters of which I can read:

And I found this at the first garage sale of the season. The pen has no cap (no wonder the instructions warn you the cart will dry out) but the carts seem to be standard internationals in good shape:

I just ordered a Cartier Pasha Platinum Plate and two bottles of Noodlers Bullet Proof black from World Lux in seattle. The wait begins!

rogerb - I hope you get that soon, it sounds great

Well, it arrived today, along with my Bexley 10th Anniversary Lime with broad stub.

The Sailor is a bit of a disappointment....I cannot get it to write any way much different from Broad....very smooth and a pretty nib...just Broad! Changing writing angles is fiddly and not, apparently, very effective.
well, I didn't have a Broad nibbed pen!!(apart from the stubs).
A very nicely-finished pen.

The Bexley is a nice handful, but looks a bit cheap, IMO, the shiny silvery trim especially...apart from that lovely big, wet Bexley stub nib.
That takes a bit of getting used-to, because it is wide, and also surprisingly flexible.
It's now loaded with Diamine Monaco Red, the exact colour of the red-brown swirls in the green resin smile.gif

Two down, three to go!(Delta DVOS, Delta Alfa Giulietta, Black Parker Duofold Intl.)

I'm new to this great site. I've always had a pen and pencil fetish being an artist, but I never realized that so many had the same addiction hehe. Thanks to wealth of information available on this site, I've bought my first two fountain pens and awaiting shipment. First one is an EF black Parker 51 Aerometric and the second is a brand new fine nibbed Namiki Sterling Dragon. No more doc signing with freebie pens from title companies heh.
