I have a J with a funny looking clip. It doesn't seem bent in the usual way, that is, with the end of the clip further away from the cap. However, it has a curve to it that i haven't seen before. Here's a picture. The clip in question is on the blue cap. The other is for reference.

What do you think?

I have about 5 of this style of pen and I will have to say it is bent. Most likely the previous owner bent it in order for it attached better to his/her pocket. Just my 2 cents.

Yep, bent and then someting placed under the middle of the clip to bend it back in giving you the hump. You may still be able to flatten the clip and place a thin rod under the cutve way at the top and bend it back, just be careful. The curve is a weak spot on the clips.
