I have nothing to do with this auction. It seems like a good deal, however:

Ha! Look who bought the pen... Lex! Lex is THE American expert on, and chief collector of, Tibaldi pens. If you ever have a question concerning, or a problem with, your Tibaldi, consult Lex first. If he doesn't know the answer.... then there is no answer!

The Impero is a lovely pen. I have one and enjoy using it. However, I think the Iride is even nicer. It has a semi-translucent brown celluloid that is something of a cross between the colors of a Stipula Etruria and the Conway Stewart Wellington.

It didn't take Lex long to snatch it up either.

Recently there was a number of Tibaldi Impero & Iride on offer from a FPN member (February if I correctly recalled). I almost bought both but for logistical reason decided not to in the end. The Euro prices were good (even with the recent USD collapse yet despite several listing, the pens found no buyer. So where were all those Tibalti devotees and why did they decide to pass these deals on?

Maybe offers on them were all made back channel? DovR sells Tibaldi pens often - I bought a Modello 60 from him -it is one of my favorite pens.
