Hello -

I am interested at Your comment about the new Majesty 7005 ( black cap )

Is this design too stylish or more pleasant than the M 7000 ( silver-gold ) ?
Is this pen a technical innovation ?

All impressions and news are welcome especially Your opinion about the
very high price for this new Pelikan.

I like the looks better then the original Majesty, its a bit less blingy, but still with a touch of the fancy schmancy. My question is is it any cheaper?
Pen Executive
I don't like it at all. It looks very ugly to me - the black cap doesn't go well at all with the sterling barrel. The original Majesty is a much better looking pen.

I like it better than the original Majesty, but only because I didn't like the silver/gold combination. I agree however, that the cap and pen seem unmatched. This could be solved, I believe, if black laquer was inlaid in the grooves along the barrel.

Question: Is the cap plastic or is it lacquered-over silver.

Also, I'd like to get a better look at the cap's engraving.

If it had have had a black grip section it would be nice. Its too silvery.

There is no listed price but the 7000 is going to be hard to beat and this pen pales in comparison.
RobertJRB
I like it. However, only with the cap. Without it is to silver. So have to post the cap all the time..

Must say I like a silver cap, black body like my m420 better than a silver body/ black cap combo.

To quote Dumb and Dumber: I like it. I like it A LOT.

Hello "Will"
Thank You very much for Your opinion.
Please have a look at the attached photograph.
Like You I hope that Pelikan chose laquer for the cap.
Perhaps good looking Chinese laquer.

You described exactly the Cartier Pasha colection.
Please read this as an compliment, because I like
this French design. ( except the poor quality )

Hi "Johnson"

Yes - much better than the original.
Sorry I can not find the word "schmancy" in my dictionary.

Probabely the words meaning is like itīs sound...............
regarding words........ I detected that You are interested
at the MB - FRANZ KAFKA.

Please be on Your guard against this pen !

Hello "Hoarder68"

Lets talk about facts and not the pens appearance.

You are right - no listed price for the M7005.
It seems that the M7000 is like a stone in the shops.
What is the reason for 1200 USD list price ?
Only the silver ? - the pens weight is "62g" - or is
it a "new" technical inovation ?

Pelikan describes it as something completely new ?

Hello "RobertJRB"

I look on my desk and I see my good "old" M420 !
Simular to the M730 - a little bit conservative but
very elegant.
perfect because of itīs balance between silver and black body.
And of course - it is a Pelikan - with all qualities.

But - I guess You know what I mean.

So what about the M7005 ?

a sterling silver pen - heavy because of itīs 62 g -
with a black laquer cap and silver clip.
Definetely a new Pelikan design and perhaps in the near
future my second pen.

Thank You for Your impressions !

I think Pelikan pitched the Majesty at far too high a price - no doubt about it. I recently bought a limited edition M800 'Concerto' for $600 on eBay - some $300 less than the Majesty is advertised for in the US. In Europe, of course, it's even more expensive!

I like everything about it except that silver ring above the clip!

Just way too much obscure engraving.

A simple smooth band would have been just fine.

Hello "Pen Executive"

- Yes You are right !
The only serious address in Europe I know is Regina Martini.
There You can buy many Pelikan products in USD.
At the moment very attractive because of the strong Euro.

On the other hand I am wondering.
I never heard people say " Oh this Mont Blanc is so expensive"
It seems to me that no one has a aproblem to pay 1000 USD or more
for one of this hundred "limited editions" from MB. ( every month a new ? )

I am still waiting for a feedback wich describes the technical inovation
of the M7000 and M7005.
This pen looks totaly different than a classic Suverän.

My problem is I do not like the stiff Parker nibs and I only
know Parker, Waterman and Pelikan pens. Probably all
Pelikan fans are a liitle bit confused because Pelikan left
the traditinal way.

Happy Easter
Yours

- Yes - less is more !
Pelikan makes a big noise about this engraving.
It shows parts of the relief in the old factory in Hanover.
Probably You have to see it on a real pen and not on
this - Computer pics -.

Well, only on the m7005. I like the model shape. Don't really like the filling proces (unscreawing the body) and miss seeing the ink window without having to unscrew the body.

The cap looks wonderfull, I like the engraving on the top . However the body is a bit to silver for my taste. A bit more black in it would be nice.

As for the price. For that amount of money I woult test it, and than buy a red toledo or even better a LE like the kirin for a bit more.
For my taste the m7000 and m7005 are a bit to shiny. For me the toledo is more the " Majesty" of the souverain range. They have a real own face and look while the Majesty has more equals (like the full metal Mont Blancs) with make the toledo's more special for me.

Hello "RobertJRB"

Thank You for Your useful tip !
Before You told me I knew only the black Toledos.

But I searched for the red Toledo and the Kirin.
Without any doubt - both pens a very special.
More than a fine piece of art because of the the red / yellow body.
( especially the Kirin is very ! beautiful / I do not prefer the lightly red
from the Toledo. Do You saw the darker M625 red in real ? )

If I have to compare the M7005 with this two pens - the Majesty is like an icecube.
At the moment I posted a selling offer for my - CP5 - Duofold Vintage - on this network.
You see I like this "cold silver pens"

Enjoy Your time

Wow! I can't decide whether or not I like that even better than the M7000. The only thing I could suggest as an improvement would be to make an all platinum version, or an all plastic version (which is guess wouldn't really be a "Majesty" then, would it? Still, I like the engraving and would love to see a lighter version of the Majesty, as well.). More colors would always be welcome, too. I'd love to see this (or any Pelikan) in white.
SquelchB
Well, it looks definitely better than a 7000. Less fancy and flashy.

As a Majesty Owner ,i fully agree and endorse your views that the original Majesty(M7000) , is a much better looking pen .
According to me , if you go for a Silver pen , you go all the way . The Cap of a Pen , is like the bonnet of a car , nose of an aircraft and it makes a statement about it's class . For me the Silver cap(without the black coating) does it, and tells an onlooker that this pen is made up entirely of sterling silver . So many people just compliment me about my Majesty and just ask me ''What is that beautiful pen and how much it cost me ''. I also think that the black cap will show the scratches more easily ..

regards,

Dev..

I'd love to see a version of the 7000 with black cap and barrel, and some nice silver trim and rings and cap ends. And a non-metal section, please. Metal sections and my hand and writing just don't work.
