My wife wanted me to provide her a tiny sample of each of my inks for research purposes (she's a scientist and sometimes does forensics), along with a color key and a printed listing of each name, so I thought I'd post the whole thing here as well. The samples she asked for are too small to share here - each of them is just a little bigger than the period at the end of this sentence, and all 78 samples fit on a 1"x1" piece of paper.

Col. Mustard in the Library with the fountain pen?

Those were tiny samples, but I imagine there are some really good processes out there for such testing. That's quite a list and variety of inks and colors by various manufacturers. I'm guessing the sampling would make a pretty good little database for ink information.

I thought I had a lot of inks. I was wrong. I'm still a newb. embarrassed_smile.gif My list of inks pales in comparison. I'm also exclusively Noodler's at this time.

Great barking cheese, what a collection!!!

Note: For those of you who don't remember or missed it, WhosYerBob used the phrase, "Great barking cheese" in his review of Noodlers Baystate Blue ink). It was LOL time around here! A reminder of WYB's sense of humor. lticaptd.gif

My humble collection numbers just five bottles and one inkwell.

I've got it, but forgot to list it. embarrassed_smile.gif

Wow. You need to take a family portrait of all your inks lined up!

I'm starting to collect, but it's hard cos we don't have many ink/pen shops in Hong Kong. All they have are black or blues.

Wow!

I don't think I'll ever have that many!... I'm more tempted to find a few I like and have multiple bottles...

I guess you like blue, then??

Yup; been trying to find the perfect blue. I found the perfect shade in Baystate Blue, but it's a tough ink to handle.

I ran into the same problem when I was in Singapore. All I could find is Hero Ink, and it came in black, blue, or blue-black. Hopefully, things have changed there since I left in 1998.

At least you can find ink, up till a little while ago, I couldn't find a single pen store in Vegas. Now I do, still my ink list is quite tiny.

1) Aurora Black
2) Noodler's Navajo Turquoise
3) Sheaffer Skrip Red
4) Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue
5) PR Sherwood Green Fast Dry
6) a bit of Caran d'Ache Caribbean Turquoise, enough MAYBE 2 refills.

--Only Ink I've ever used/found in Hong Kong is either Blue (which I prefer) or Black (which I not so prefer).
