I recently picked up no. 1/100 of the Churchill Red Arrows edition#, and as Richard Binder has also stated in another post, it's one of the most gorgeous Churchill's around.

However, and on to my query, a while back I was inquiring about changing the gold furniture to that of silver/rhodium on a Jarvis Garner. The answer I got was that this was entirely possible, as you could choose which trim version you wanted.

So, here it is... Does this mean that there are in fact two runs of 100 LE pens made, or an actual verifiable 100 that are assembled according to the buyer's requirement?

Although I suspect the former, surely this still confuses the edition run, as it changes the edition being issued? for example, you could now have 91 pens in gold & 9 in silver out of a run of 100, in theory making the silver edition a more rare/sought after property.

Please enlighten me.... sad.gif

One word: BESPOKE

Conway stewart has set up their system so you can pretty much get whatever combination of material, furniture, filler that you want (within some rodstock size issues). So there are most likely a set of engraved xx/100 pens but you can ask to have a pen made identical to them except with silver furniture and it will not have the numbering.

As I have never seen the pen I am assuming that it has a particular engraving. If not then the cache is something that only the buyer will know about except by keeping purchase documents as proof that the pen is part of the limited edition.

So it is very possible that someone can have a pen identical to a limited edition bespoke made, I think there is a thread about this somewhere else in the forum.

Hi Kurt,

I am preparing for my trip to the UK so please see my response below in your message.

Every pen under the new management is numbered -- whether it is limited or regular edition. All limited edition pens are numbered regardless of the choice of trim and they do not exceed the production quantity noted in the edition run. Regular editions have two numbers -- one set is the colour code for the resin and the other set of numbers denotes the unit number made in that particular model and colour.

As I have never seen the pen I am assuming that it has a particular engraving. If not then the cache is something that only the buyer will know about except by keeping purchase documents as proof that the pen is part of the limited edition.

Under the new management it is not possible to order the same pen finish in the same model which is identical to a limited edition through the bespoke service.

Actually you should respond to Bren as he asked the question. I was just answering from the information I had dealing with the prior management.

That's nice to know as I remember that was an issue with the prior management.

Thanks Mary

It sure is beautiful.

One further point, I always considered the very first pen 001/100 would go directly to someone either related to the foundation of the topic or some other worthy individual. Hence I was surprised to get number 1...
