The 5th annual Triangle Pen Show is scheduled to return to the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary, NC(suburb of Raleigh). This is one of the few shows that is open to the public for three days, Friday afternoon and Saturday/Sunday. Pre public activity starts on Thursday at 9 am and runs through 1pm on Friday.

The website has been updated and a downloadable registration flyer is available on the "Reservations" page.

You can look at photos from the 2006 show and we will have photos up soon from last year. We have also left the 2007 list of exhibitors up so that you can who was there last year. It will be updated as we move through the registration process.

We have added a dessert party on Saturday night just prior to the 100 lot pen auction. We already have some very nice consigned items and photos will be up soon.

Registration flyers will go out by mail to exhibitors next week. 2008 show patrons include Bexley Pen, Franklin-Christoph(based in Raleigh), Houndstooth Enterprises, Ltd. (Sailor Pen), Sharon Luggage(eight locations throughout NC with pen counters), Stylus Magazine, Swisher Pens and the Triangle Pen Club.

Sonya and I hope you will join us for this year's show. Thanks, Terry 614-619-5025 www.raleighpenshow.com

We're already registered. This is a great show in a remarkably nice hotel -- if you're in a position to go but decide not to, it's your loss. Among other things, the auction is a chance to snag some primo stuff. I know this first-hand; last year I took home this set:

And if you've never done a pen-show auction, here's how it works.

I have also registered my place for the show.... It is a great show and I had a fantastic time last year....
You can find me directly across from Richard and Ron Zorn where I can keep an eye on them... rolleyes.gif

Tom, you set yourself an ambitious goal.... keeping an eye on Richard Binder and Ron Zorn! I contend that these two guys do WHATEVER THEY WANT at pen shows. Watching them attempt to work and talk at the same time is one of the highlights of any pen show. When they can't find any customers to talk to, they talk to each other. I can hear Barbara Binder now, saying, "Richard, less talk and more work!" (That's why she's the general manager of the operation!)

p.s. If you want to get on Richard's good side, bring him coffee.

Last year the Raleigh Show became about my best "buying" show ever, although that line is a constantly moving thing.

Embassy Suite probably is the best chain in which to hold a show. Breakfast. Happy hour. Convenient layout.

Will be there fershure. Looking to buy some big pens no doubt

I have to tell you, this hotel has got to be THE nicest of any that I've been in for a show. Terry always has a well run show. If you're anywhere close by, this is one to to to!

Edit:

We plan to be there and hope to see YOU there!

I had a blast last year! I got to meet OldGriz, Dr. I, and Ron Z, who did a great job of restoring my grandmother's Parker 51. Better start saving for this year. If anyone from FPN wants to meet up there, please PM me! biggrin.gif

I am bumping this because it is a great show.... Anyone within reasonable driving time (or not) should really consider it...

I'll be there on a weekend pass...

Please shout out to me if you see me, I'm easy to spot. Look for a big guy, 6'4, 325lb, driving around like a bat out of hell on a big blue and black power-chair, probably wearing some sort of Virginia Tech clothing.

I was there last year, my first pen show, and I had a blast. Didn't know I needed a weekend pass, figured I'd be in and out in a couple hours Friday afternoon. Yea right. I'm planning much better this year, health permitting.

I've not been able to make a show yet - either DC, Atlanta or the much closer Raleigh show... I'm going to make a concerted effort this year - I don't have anything on the purchase list, but that shouldn't stop me from finding something I need! Or at least having the chance to finally meet some of the FPN icons ... ohmy.gif

Just a little bump to let you know that updates have been made to the Raleigh Pen Show Website

Pictures of the major doorprizes are posted as well as some info on general doorprizes.
Pictures from last year's show are also online now...
The exhibitor page is as accurate as we have info for.... there may be some changes, but I doubt it will be a lot.
I am still awaiting pictures of this year's auction items from Terry...

This is a real fun show with a lot of good people. The hotel is the best I have been to for any show...
Terry and Sonya put on a reall good event... show up and you will not be disappointed...
If you come to the show, please come over to my table and say hello... I met a lot of good FPN people last year...

Had to miss it last year due to last-minute work schedule changes. Hoping to get there this year!

Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Binder and Mr. Mullane, as well as many other great folks.

I'm still trying to decide what my priorities are for the show this year. I really want Mr. Binder to grind me a nib for my black Pelikan M805, I really want to purchase another new or NOS pen of the M805 calibre, possibly another Pelikan, or perhaps some other brand, I've really been itching to pick up a Sailor 1911 large. And I'd really like to pick up a couple of vintage pens, which I've never dabbled with before. I hear so many folks raving about Parker '51's that I'd like to try one of those, although aesthetically I find the Vacs and the Duofolds more appealing. And I'd love to get a vintage flex or semi-flex, something like a Pelikan 100 or similar. I'm not sure how much of that I'll be able to accomplish though, financial restrictions being what they are, hehe.

And I have the additional problem that I adore the M nib in my Pelikan M805, and really don't want to touch it, so I'll either have to purchase another nib for it, or buy a whole new pen... Come to think of it, the M805 with blue striations is really beautiful...

Ah yes, so many wonderful choices...
