Hi,
I was surfing the net for a pen holder, but was put off by the pricey ones. I have a small collection, less than 10 and found some solutions around the house. I happen to find a flat box with a great cover that once housed some packaged smoked salmon. I sewed up some red felt and cut and glued some balsa wood to form compartments. Works well for me and cost less than $2 to put together.

The other item is a click magnetized open and close card box from Barnes and Noble. Great pictures on the top and a cool, clean open and close lid. The Monteverde Charisma is propping the top a crack. Nicer card shops and museum stores sell these kinds of cards.

I apologize for the size and the orientation. Still learning how to do this.

They look nice and are both useful and functional. Great job.

Wanda,
What a great pen box! Your pens look very comfortable there in the felt you made, and the extra compartments are great.

I was in Papyrus today looking at paper. They had those magnetic boxes. Another great place in the National Art Museum in DC...their museum store under the East Wing has an unbelievable amount of art cards in those boxes.

Now THAT is ingenuity smile.gif

I have seen so many leather cases ... and it always brings a smile to my face when I see the price tag for a whopping amount - only to turn it around

and see the lettering "Made in China"

I am sure that the leather and workmanship is top notch - however, I can't stop to wonder about the low cost it probably produced to make it and the high

profit margin these brand name companies are getting

Just my two cents however ...

Great idea, and fantastic job ... the case looks absolutely great !!! thumbup.gif
