I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum ....

I recently acquired a lovely Lady Sheaffer Skripsert which writes beautifully but the cap (one of the clipless variety) is little loose. Here's a small (!) photo Click to view attachment

So my question is how is the cap/lid held on and is there anything I can do to make it more secure ?

I believe the cap is held on by friction via the chrome ring on the section. If the ring is worn down, the cap won't have much to grab onto.

That's what I thought but I figured it was worth checking !
