I bought this in a lot of pens on eBay. Not being a Wahl Person myself, I honestly don't know what I bought. Can anyone tell me a bit more about it? It is shown beside a Conklin Endura desk pen, a Carter's Jade deskpen and a big Sheaffer desk pen with a RHR taper. The Wahl pen has the triple barrel rings and a huge flexible (marked) nib.
Thanks.

Well, Chris,
Whatchoo got there is a large size (the 3 barrel rings matched the 3 humidor (vase/tulip) whatever you want to call it that the pen rested in as it is a desk pen like the others in the photo. It is also a "Gold Seal" pen meaning that it was guranteed for life when it was sold. The original color is what you see just above the section where it was obviously protected from sunlight and to some degree air and thus it is more like the pen was when made. The rest of the barrel and tail have oxidized some and faded out. The 3 ring pens had the larger nibs (Wahl #6 size) which is a pretty big nib. Some folks actually buy not do great desk pens at reasonable prices just to get the nibs for other large Wahl pens that need one. Such a pen was made between 1928 and 1931 give or take 6 months. I have original ads that show this pen with various bases that were available in "the day". Most Gold Seal had personal Point (interchangeable screw in and ouot nib/feeds that were mounted in threaded BHR collars. I can not tell from your photo if that arrangement has remained intact.
I am not sure what else there is to tell. I guess you will be looking for a base to match now. 3-ring bases are a little hard to find, but sooner or later one will turn up. Seems people have not gotten turned on to desk pens these days...but that will change, too in enough time.
