Dear Colleagues,
I purchased a Broad Nib Matt Black Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pen from Ebay which was described as 'New' and 'in mint condition'. I paid $68 US Dollars for it including shipping to the United Kingdom.
When I inspected the pen, there were two noticeable splits near the top of the cap ( pictures enclosed ).
It was a disappointment to say the least. Am I being too fussy? or is this a common problem amongst Sheaffer Targa's?.
I have emailed the seller and hope to have at least some money reimbursed....but I don't know what a reasonable/fair amount would be for that type of damage. Or should I return the pen and get a full refund?. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kavanagh

I would return the pen for a full refund, including shipping to you and back to the Seller.
There is no way the Seller could have missed damage like that.

Hi Kavanagh,
Before you send it back i would give Stone Marketing a call and see if they still have the parts to exchange the cap. This type of damage should be repaired f.o.c.
I think $68 dollars is a good price for a Targa with a solid gold nib ,the nib alone retails at £65 in the U.K now.
Try for some money off from the seller and send the pen away to stone marketing would be my advice.
Cheers Gary
