Does anyone know if a Japanese medium nib is the same as a German medium? I think that I read somewhere that a Japanese medium was like a fine in other countries. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks
It seems every pen maker has it's own idea of what a medium nib is. Japanese pens do run thinner than most other pens.

Japanese nibs tend to run narrower than the norm. So do Aurora nibs.
Montblanc 146/149 and Parker Duofold nibs tend to run wider than the norm. Visconti nibs and the newer Omas nibs seem to have picked up that characteristic as well, but not to the same extent as Montblanc 146/149 and Parker Duofold.
Pens that seem to hit the norm are Sheaffer, Waterman, Dupont, Pelikan, Bexley, Taccia, Delta, Ancora, Yard O Led, and Conway Stewart.
