Well, after this past Christmas my pen storage has reached capacity. As I sat here trying to figure out "what next", I took pictures and well...................proud I guess embarrassed_smile.gif

Sorry about the lighting. I constantly struggle headsmack.gif

Don't you worry Ilubiano, it will be one day. And YOU'll be answering all the Newbie questions then too. thumbup.gif

Nice herd! Looks like you will have to let loose another drawer for pens or buy an official pen case!

I think I see a few Esties there that would fit right in with the ones I have. I'll be happy to provide a new home to any that are feeling neglected and ignored. lticaptd.gif

Very nice. I'm sitting here drooling over all the Esterbrooks I'm seeing in your drawer.

I keep hearing mention of "rotation" here, which sounds to me like a movement out of synchronized swimming or ice dancing. Is there actually such a thing as a fountain pen owner who religiously rolls through all of their pens, keeping a couple inked and the rest waiting in a regular roster for their turn in the schedule? I seem to get into writing with the latest pen I've added to my line-up? That might evolve into a rotation someday, at least if I would ever stop buying.

What do you do?
richardandtracy
Now that's just boasting..

Don't look now, but I've gone green with envy.

Regards

Richard.

Nice thumbup.gif

But which is your main workhorse?

I'm almost at that stage myself, now. The top tray of my two-tray (24-slot) Visconti pen chest is full and it's now beginning to overflow into the lower drawer! biggrin.gif

For the most part it's the Esterbrook J's, LAMY Al-Stars and a Waterman 32A that is due to go back in rotation.

I actually took these pictures a few times but never posted just because I didn't want it to seem like boasting. I finally gave in (obviously) because I just had to share. I stand alone at work so to say and my wife has already seen this stuff........many times. That said, here is the rest. No some of these are for sure "parts pens" and things I collected when I didn't have a real clue. And while on the subject, could someone tell me what the box is that I am keeping all this stuff in? I keep hearing "It's an old engineers box......I think" The box is ca. 1950's.
richardandtracy
That box is one to die for.
It needs the proper contents though. Rule, callipers, micrometer, vernier.. It's a real workshop box.

Regards

Richard.

Nice engineers toolbox there! These were the precursor to those bright red tin plate toolchests you find today. A lot of the old toolboxes were individually made as apprentice pieces, with hand machined fittings and integeral instrument holders built into the trays - certainly the one that my father owns does, a lovely 1920's example with a full set of measuring instruments...

Nice pens, btw...

Nice collection!

Beautiful collection and beautiful toolbox.

I have a toolbox similar that I use to hold watchsmithing materials and tools... sadly newer production.

And I should warn you, I'm "bookmarking" this thread to show the wife whenever she gets around to getting on my back for my expanding collection... thumbup.gif

I need to reorganize at a minimum. The drawer with the dip pins needs to cleaned out. I will say that I will never use them so I need to get them to some one who will. I am a pack rat so that will be hard regardless.

This one is definetly built well. All the sides of the draws are dovetail fitted and the whole thing is held together with 1000's of small nails. It was a Christmas present about 5 yeras ago. Up until then, I had pens all over the place and the wife was not thrilled.
