At pen shows, in midst of meals and debates and seminars... i occasionally buy n' sell pens wink.gif

This one walked up to my table from the outside perhaps two or three Washington shows ago.

For some reason i could not turn it down. Love this color. The condition was not too shabby either.

Nice one, David! ...especially with the original stickers, box and papers.

That's my favorite Balance color!

Thank's for sharing

It is a standard. Of course, i just picked up a couple OS's in this color too, but not- no surprise- mint stickered boxed. This one i've had sitting around a couple years. Not going anywhere soon wink.gif I am still a collector of Balance.

Life has room for differing personal preferences. smile.gif

For long time i too disliked Sheaffer Vac Fillers. There is long history of the hobby as a whole disliking them.

However...

The advent of the drill-and-reseal restoration, its promulgation in the hobby, its adoption and tweaking by folks such as Ron Z, Richard B and Ron M has... modified my dislike. It is my expectation (which is not the same as proof no doubt) that the plunger-fill celluloid Sheaffers should outlast sac pens (eg button/lever fillers) for function, as the parts are sturdier and the restoration technique is... impressive.

During last few months I have sought and acquired many of this sort. I hope in next couple months to present what mite be the largest single-offering selection ever made available online or in catalog (yeah, go prove it, i know LOL) of 1940's Celluloid Triumph pens, mostly plunger-fillers. Great writers. Hold lots of ink. Now... reliable.
