This looks a great pen - shame only 25 pieces have been made, it should have been a 100 piece limited edition.
It will sell out easily.
Mary - please can you let us know the total length (in mm) of the pen when capped, and the total weight?
Thanks.

Thanks Mary. This really is an impressive writing instrument, though the price is equally impressive.
I will need to do a lot of thinking before deciding to buy this pen.

Please don't apologise! News of newly released CS products are
always welcome - I wouldn't have known about this pen if you hadn't posted.

Well, I don't want to be seen as a cheerleader for CS, but I believe CS pens are among the most exciting and interesting of modern fountain pens. I already have three CS models, and the Evolution could be my fourth.

Well, I've taken the big leap and ordered this pen from Pam Braun. A substantial discount is on offer from Pam.
Let's hope it turns out as impressive as expected - I have a feeling it will.

OK, it's heavy, but heft is always a reliable sign of quality in a sterling silver pen. I've come across a lot of 'silver' pens that only have a thin layer of the metal on a plastic sleeve - and they have the nerve to call these 'sterling silver'!

A silver pen should be made of
solid silver, not a thin sheet!
Moreover, this is not a pen designed to be posted, hence the mechanism for controlling the equilibrium of the pen. I never post fountain pens, anyway.

Ha! My heaviest pen (the Stipula DaVinci) weighs 70 grams. Fortunately, I don't find it unduly heavy.
For 115, I think I'd need to at least practice writing with it before committing to purchase, though.

My heaviest is 90g (Onoto Centenary) and it doesn't bother me at all. In any case I do not regard the Evolution as a daily user - more of a collector's pen, with occasional usage on special occasions.

That's a pity as my YOL grands are daily users and so incredibly comfortable that it's tempting to try something heavier, budget permitting.

I saw the prototype at LA show in person, and reserved 2 pens on the spot, one for a customer who got #7, I would keep #8 . So, yes, these will sold out quickly, I think even before they come out.
If you like big and heavy pen, this is it.

Alternatively, there are credit cards, are there not? I've bought a lot of stuff on credit. You can't avoid it these days, unless you are rich. It's a fact of modern life.
Though, in all honesty, I would only get credit if you really
love the pen and want it desperately.

Marry,
I hope this one doesn't sell out before I can scrape up the funds for it...
I'm wondering about the mechanism that controls the weights within the pen, are they plastic, or a metal? How much weight can be moved and how far along the body of the pen can the weight be adjusted? It's pure curiosity, but I doubt my local shop will pick one of these up to have in the display so the more info the better!
Thanks much!
- andrew
edit - because I missed part of the dimension info.

Hi Andrew,
The mechanism is hand crafted out of metal and the weight can be moved along the whole of the barrel.
Filling Mechanism is converter cartridge.
Nib grades: Extra Fine to Extra Broad, Italic Fine, Italic Medium and Italic Broad.

Hi,
I am excited to say that I saw the first batch of 11 pens being made by hand last week and the factory manager is very proud of this new design! We will be finishing the sales information and images for the web page and newsletters shortly. Below is a picture with text I have on file and will gladly post an update once the images and information has been completed upon my return to the US.

Kind regards,

Have all the pens been finished now? When are they shipping to the USA for orders from that country?
Also, do you have any more pics?
Thanks.

I received my Evolution - and what a pen!! Utterly magnificent!
I have seen many, many pens in my life, but this is the most imposing pen I have ever seen, let alone held. I'm glad CS made the decision to expand the limited edition to 200, because this will attract a lot of interest. The nib is just the usual smooth CS nib, but the pen itself is simply amazing, with the weight adjusting mechanism a nice bonus.
If anyone is hesitating because of the price, please do not! This is one pen to buy even if you will never buy another pen again. I am delighted!
