That might help. As I mentioned, I don't have a Classic Century, but the Townsend's feed has a gasket around the base of the part that extends into the nipple that seems to trap a lot of ink. The C.C. might have something similar.
A good reason to be careful with the Classic Century is the "wobbly nib" problem. That seems to have taken out a lot of those pens since they were produced, judging by the posts I've seen, so if yours hasn't developed it -- be careful!
