Hi all.

I'm currently trying to identify the two halves of a frankenbalance I purchased in a bout of ill-guided enthusiasm. The body of the pen seems to be a standard/slim model (imprinted as a 350), but the cap I'm not sure about. Using data from Richard Binder's site (thanks Richard), I'm pretty sure that the cap is from either a petite or lady version, but the information on the site isn't detailed enough to give a definitive answer.

So, are there any sites out there which would have the detailed information needed? i.e:- cap length, internal diameter, external diameter, length of barrel+section, etc.

Cheers... G

If you can post a picture or two, I can identify it for you.

Hi Daniel. If I could, I'd gladly post a picture. Unfortunately, after spending an hour finding my digicam, fresh batteries, finding more fresh batteries, checking said batteries with a multimeter and cleaning the battery compartment contacts of my digicam, it turns out to be deceased.

If it helps, the barrel&section are 3+7/8" long, with a diameter of 23/64" at the start of the threads. The cap measures 2+5/16" long, internal diameter at the lip is 13/32", external diameter at the band is 31/64". Cap band measures 5/64" wide, clip measures 1+3/16" long. All trim is nickel plated (the pen is grey striated).

Sounds like the barrel from a ~1937-1941+ P3T (lever-filler) or P3W (Vacuum-Fil), called Craftsman from about mid 1938 onward when model names were bestowed across the line, with the cap from a P53V/P53WS from the same period, called Milady. 350 is the price (in cents) of the pen to which the barrel belongs, not a model designation (the cap belonged to a $5.00 pen).

Thank you, Daniel! You 'da MAN! thumbup.gif

Well, it looks like I'm needing the cap from a Grey/Pearl striated P3T Craftsman then. If anybody could help, please let me know. And, if anyone needs a cap for a G/p striated P53 Milady, likewise, get in touch...

Cheers... G
