Thanks for the photos, Dave. I know about the M1000 laugh.gif but can you tell me a little bit about the watch? It looks very nice...

Awesome watch. I was looking at Glasshute, but it is way off my budget.

hi maja: glashutte original is based in east germany, near dresden and meissen (where they make the fancy porcelain). it's right across the street from another saxon watchmaker, a. lange und sohne (really expensive, really nice stuff). the best german watches are considered just about on par with the finest the swiss have to offer. the panograph has a big date at 4:00, and a sectoral chronograph at 2-3:00. if you look closely, you can see the tiny red tipped hands which tell the elapsed minutes (three different length hands rotating within the sectoral window).

Hi Dave,

Very nice indeed! Wasn't Glashüttte supposed to be a pilot's watch?

Warm regards< Wim

hi wim: they do make pilot's watches, but i think their past and current lines are pretty diverse. other german companies such as hanhart and tutima specialized in pilot's watches. iwc is also known for their pilot's watches. here's a GO modern pilot, the senator navigator perpetual i lifted from scott shelerud's review at the purists which you can find here...Scott Shelerud's guest review of the limited edition Navigator Perpetual

but they make other watches such as this...(picture by marcus hanke from the purists.com, read the review here...The PuristS peek review of glashutte original's PanoMaticChrono

and this one, a helwig flying tourbillon 2 in platinum, snagged from thomas m at the purists.

hi again maja:  sorry, the time is read on the left half of the watch; the hours and minutes at the top subdial, and the seconds in the bottom subdial.
