Here are a couple of pics of this Ducati fountain pen I got this morning. It's unusual looking for a fountain pen and it has a steel nib, but it writes nicely. The poor camera pics don't do it justice, but a more accurate colour representation can be seen here.:

Yes, with the cap posted it is very top heavy. I generally don't post so it's not an issue for me, but the pen is hefty. It's not uncomfortably heavy to write with, but it's no lightweight. So far, I like it. It's medium (steel) nib writes more like a fine which I thought a bit unusual for what I assumed to be an Italian-made pen. I suspect the nib to be of Japanese manufacture, but I'm not 100% positive of that (yet). All I know so far is that they are produced by the Aquila Group of Italy (who also produce Lalex and Jaguar pens).

Thanks for the photos, Apollo! Well, the pen is conversation starter, that's for sure smile.gif Are you a racing enthusiast? Also, is the "foldaway clip" (I read about it on that Giardino Italiano site) usefull?

I think I like the bikes better. I had a 748, a 748S, and a Monster 1000 - two desmo quattros, the last a desmo due. They all had the sweetest character that is Ducati...
