Hi all -

Anyone know a good ink supplier in/near Arlington, VA?

Thanks!

The only ones that readily come to mind are Bertram's Inkwell in Baltimore, http://www.bertramsinkwell.com/index.html

or there's Fahrney's on G Street NW in DC, http://www.fahrneyspens.com/

If I had to pick between the two, I'd take the trip to Baltimore to visit Bertram's.

I don't know if you'd consider them good or not, but there are also Paradise Pen and Levenger branches in Tysons Corner. Best,

There's a Paradise Pen at Pentagon City Fashion Centre also. I can think of a good stationery store downtown (H St. NW, Farragut West, TimeExpress Office Supply) that stocks a few brands and one in Bethesda that has Visconti, but the best bet would probably be one of the stores already mentioned.

Not as close, but Swisher's is in Virginia Beach. See here for address:

The best ink selection close to you may be Bertram's Inkwell in White Flint. It's much better than Fahrney's in DC or Levenger in Tyson's (plus the service at Levenger in Tyson's is awful wallbash.gif ).

OK, thanks everyone. I am actually heading to Tysons later today, so I'll check out Levenger and see how that is and branch out from there.

and remember Paradise Pens ...

Ah yes, thanks...

Fahrney's carry: PR (house ink), Mont Blanc, Waterman, Pelikan, Aurora, Parker, and a few others
Levenger carry: Levenger only
Paradise carry: PR, Mont Blanc, Waterman (I think that's it)

Among the three, Fahrney's have the best selection.

Sadly, the 3-4 times i visited during the week, one of the store staff has been snooty. Never impolite or unprofessional, just enough that I can fight my strong urge to walk in even though it's only a few blocks away from work and on my walking route to the bus stop. Maybe I've just been unlucky during those times.

The weekend staff, however, are absolutely wonderful. It's worth the 40 minute drive + hauling the baby + paying parking to visit on weekends. (Yes, I work far away from home!)

In addition to those mentioned-

Pen Boutique in the Montgomery Mall has ink. I got my Aurora Black there

The Pen Haven in Kensington (open only on weekends) has some ink selection as well
