Has anyone compared Noodler's Old Manhattan Black and Private Reserve's Ultra Black and posted the sample?

Would love to see it.

Thanks in advance.

Dunno if you've seen this, but a search turned it up.

Seems PR is very NOT waterproof as well as (in this poster's opinion) considerably less black.

I know Noodler's Heart of Darkness is not as exclusive as OMB (wasn't that a band?) but is rated very nearly as black by many and more "black" than Noodler's regular which gets rated above PR in that post.

Also the Giant black list http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...showtopic=49852 includes them.

FWIW I REALLY like HoD. (OK its as much the name as how it writes.)

Thanks, Rapt.

My search terms must have been too general, because all the threads showed up. Ha ha ha!

However, I was still able to find a few discussions and samples of these two inks, like the Giant Black List. But I didn't see the first link! Cool; thanks!

I'm inclined to go with the Old Manhattan out of nostalgic reasons (also, I have a fondness for FPH from years of patronage before I ever moved to the City). But let me examine these a little more closely....

Thanks again!

Edit: I guess I had seen that thread, as I'd left a comment last week. Um... never mind...? (I guess I've inundated myself with ink threads today.)
