Title says it all. Where are new Sheaffer pens made? If these are different places, where are the non-nib parts produced, the nibs made, and the whole pens assembled?
Steven
As a followup question, where are new models developed?

Sheaffer Pens are made all over the place.
Valor= Italy
Legacy Heritage= Czech Republic (by a German owned company)
Agio/Prelude= China
Calligraphy= Mexico/China
FP Refills= Slovenia
BP/RB Refills= China
MPI Standpipe Refill= Mexico
SGC2= China
Javelin= Japan

The product is developed by a team at Bic in CT and
in Belgium. They usually compile several finishes/designs
and have each countries distributor give input. Needless to
say we (the US Distributor) dont always win. It is truely a
global effort to bring products to market now. I'd personally
like them to listen solely to me but they don't always see it my
way all of the time. glare.gif

Are the facilities in those various places companies other than Bic? In other words, would it be fair to say that Bic has become only a services company (design, marketing, sales, service) with regard to producing Sheaffer (and maybe other?) pens, as opposed to being also a manufacturer?

And, if so, what other pen companies have taken that approach, ignoring the outsourcing of nibs, which seems to have become almost commonplace?

I am impressed that you have taken time out to monitor this forum and have responded in a timely manner! That's great and shows your concern for your customers. As a consumer (and owner of about 10 Scheaffers), I will keep this in mind. thumbup.gif

Thanks!

Thanks so much, Sheaffer USA. No wonder some of the newer Preludes have the label 'USA' omitted on the cap ring.

I am a big fan of Sheaffer, and a bulk of my collection are Sheaffer pens (5-6 Preludes, 2 Legacies I, 1 PFM III, and planning to have a Valor some point in time).

We will all benefit more by your participation on the Sheaffer forum.

thanks,

I write with a Prelude every day and occasionally I'll use my fine point Valor FP
or my Legacy Victorian in Medium. My Prelude that I use is a USA made one in
Cadmium Yellow. I compared it to the new Preludes that I received last week and
they look and feel the same in balance and quality. BTW there will be 3 new Prelude finishes
coming very soon. Silver Shimmer, Rose Gold Shimmer and Blue Shimmer. The names
are kind of silly but it works for the most part. I'll send the new Preludes to Jim Mamoulides
to photograph because the photos that I have a terrible.
