From what I have been reading, it seems that new MB FPs have some arbitrary break-in period that they must go through before they start writing properly.

I was just wondering, does that apply to the caps as well?

The last two 144s I bought, it was a couple of weeks of frequent use until the caps would stay properly seated on the barrel when writing. During this time, the caps would routinely slide off of the barrel. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this? Does this problem exist with other models, the 146/149?

Thanks.

No but I will say this... on my new 146, the cap is so large that when it is screwed in, if I move between where the threads and the barrel meet the cap can actually wobble a bit. It's hard to explain because it doesn't wobble on its own. INstead, only if I play around w/ the cap myself would it "wobble."

The cap on my 147 will wobble a bit too. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one to notice this.

I started to notice after about 3 weeks of owning a MB starwalker rubber/metal ballpoint that one of the three rings of metal near the point on the pen will wobble or move a tiny bit(the middle ring). If you look at a picture of this pen you will know what Im refering to. Anyways it's not a big problem, but it's little things like this that bother me; especially when you pay $300 for a ballpoint pen. Im even pickier about these small, benign cosmetic flaws with my guitars; My Gibson Les Paul classic drove me crazy when I first got it.
