Well, I did decide to treat myself to a belated (2 weeks) birthday present. I purchased a Virgina Woolf LE in fine nib. This is my first "writers series" pen, although I do also have Hommage a Chopin in medium. I just love this pen! I will post my further impressions after I have a few more letters under the nib. Current blood type being used is Pelikan Royal Blue and it seems to work exceptionally well. My MB collection, which includes a number of "vintage" pens, has definitely just been upgraded. \Craig

There are some other VW fans out there, and I'd bet we'll all like to hear/read your review.

I also own this pen and I can tell you that you got yourself one of the best writers and one of the best pens under 1000$.
I am totaly in love with this pen and I wish I would have it in me to use it.

I used to feel the same way about using "collector" quality pens. About 18 months ago, I had a very nearly fatal heart attack. I fully recovered and am blessed to be able to live a normal life. I decided at that time that life was too short not to use what I have been blessed with. So, I now proudly use all of my pens (at least those that are functional) and I encourage others to do the same. \Craig

Happy Birthday and congratulations on both your recovery and a gorgeous pen! Love that flowing wave pattern.

Awesome pen! Congratulations.

I am also of the kind that uses everything in my arsenal. What good is a pen that you don't use? Might has well have a photo or an advertisement in a frame. tongue.gif

Well... I don't use my late grandmother's Montblanc #32, even though it has a great OB nib, because it has some little cracks around the ink window, and because I'm very afraid of losing it.

I also have a Pelikan 620 Berlin that I just haven't filled for the first time yet. I bought it in December 2006 with some birthday money (right around the same time I bought a transparent-blue FP/BP M600 set and a tortoise-and-brown FP/BP M400 set), and every time I take it out, I just look at it some and put it back in its box. I'll start using it sometime, but its time hasn't come yet... smile.gif
