I need your help for this project. I need to build a cigar pen out of sterling silver. The pen will be bright cut engraved. I need to use 20 ga. sterling for the metal. Any information as to procedure, internal parts and web links would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm assuming that you are making a ballpoint pen. I'm not aware of anyone offering a silver cigar kit. Platinum is available, though. Making the pen is not difficult. You can turn silver with very sharp wood turning tools. A very sharp skew will do a nice job. If you go with a kit, you would leave out the brass tubes, and drill the blanks to the inside diameter of the tubes. That way, the mechanicals will press directly into the silver. I've not done this with silver, but it works very well with aluminum. Much of what you do depends on the look that you are going for. You can do a custom centre band, or eliminate it altogether. The filial/clip holder on all cigar pens is black. You can turn one out of silver if you don't want any black showing.

Feel free to PM me if you need any other information. I would be interested to see the final product.
