Coming to the end of the standard blue in my Pelikan Level 5 bottle. Has anyone experimented with refilling these with another ink colour? Is it possible and what precautions, if any, should I take?

Thanks

Hi,

It can be done, not tried it yet, but I am pretty sure others have. The cap can be removed by using a robber glove to grip it (or an elastic band wrapped around the cap), be careful not to squeeze the bottle too much if there is ink in it, refill with whatever ink you want and screw the cap back on, again care not to squeeze and you are ready to go.

Many thanks was worried that the cap may be Hermetically(?) sealed or something at the factory and not replaceable.

On that thought would it help using a drop of silicon grease when resealing to prevent leaking like you would do for ED pens?

Hi,

I don't think it will be needed, I have taken the cap off mine a couple of times with no mishaps, but might be better to be safe rather than sorry, will probably do that when I get round to refilling mine.
