Good News!

A White Tortoise Pekikan is about to nest in my collection.

Aside from Legal Lapis, are there any inks which should not be used with this pen.

Inks currently in the desk drawer:

Waterman: black, blue, blue black, green, havana, violet, red, south seas blue.

Noodlers: Aircorps blue-black, turquoise, Navajo turquoise

Aurora: Black, Blue

Herbin: Bleu Azure, Bleu Pervenche, Vert Reseda, Diablo Menthe, Orange Indien.

Taki had problems with Kiowa Pecan sticking to the section threads. So anything in the really dark Noodler's family should be used with caution probably. Reds and purples - probably just make sure you clean them out regularly if you use any.

i was able to rub off - with some effort mind you - any of the Legal Lapis that got on the section. But I'm not sure what would have happened had it stayed on long-term. I think that Pelikan chose a somewhat porous plastic for this pen because I can't think of any other reason why any ink would stick so thoroughly to it. Given that Nathan has explained how LL and it's ilk work and I'm sure there is no cellulose fibre in that pen. smile.gif

glad you finally got that pretty little bird.

I would say go for the old line less saturated colors staying way from reds and purples.

I agree.

Mine has some Sheaffer red in the threads that hasn't come off easily.

I haven't tried real hard to get it off but it is still there.
