I can't believe I'm writing this post; it's like someone else is moving my fingers on the keyboard. I don't even know what a pen show is, or what goes on there! But, as I sink deeper and deeper into this inky quicksand, I'm wondering, Is there a pen show in Minneapolis/St. Paul? Or is the closest one in Chicago (I'm assuming there must be one there).

Has there even been a show here? How does it work?

Hello,

There is not a Minnesota Pen Show and Chicago is the closest. There are, however, numerous pen collectors here. There is even a Pen Enthusiasts Club. I have not been to any meetings, but will do so as family events allow. The name of the Club is the Pen Enthusiasts Northern Society and they meet once a month in St. Paul. Possibly a member will chime in with more information.

Sorry about there being no pen show.

Do you know if "PENS" has a web site?
philm
I am not aware that they have a website. I visited Mike Carter's great pen store in Crystal a few weeks ago and he is a member. You might check with him as he mentioned that one should mention to a current member that they want to attend a meeting. He would be a good person to check with regarding when the next meeting is and what the correct protocol for attending might be. He also has a very nice pen shop with lots of new and vintage pens. His website can be found by looking up the Fountain Pen Recycler. It is hard for me to make Friday evening meetings as I always seem to be coaching something, but let me know how it goes if you do attend. I hope to join at some point as well.

You are correct - there are often too many temptations.
