Snap decision today to drive the 2 hrs down to Detroit for the last hours of the Detroit pen show. This was my first one.

Small show, but it was a nice time for me.

Got to meet Pam Braun, and see how all of my money is supporting her. tongue.gif Also, the folks from pendemonium were there and I picked up some ink (which I am sorely lacking). They had a nice pen case with every color of Noodler's loaded up for sampling. I picked up several different brands including: Sailor Blue, Legal Lapis, Herbin turquoise, Diamine Turquoise. Also picked up a couple of note pads (Clairefontaine, and Rhodia). I found a noodler's red that I liked: Tienanmen, but no one had it in stock.

I was looking for vintage and there was some there. Talked with several folks about the pens I sought. Got to handle some Vacs, and Senior Balances. Still looking for that perfect Vac, Balance, and Triumph nibbed Sheaffer, but the discussions were very helpful and interesting.

Also checked out soem moderns that I had not had a chance to see before. New eye candy that I had not considered before: Conway Stewart, Stipula, and the Parker modern Duofolds. The Mosiac Black is a beatiful pen.

And finally, I got to check out: drool MAKI-E. The namiki Yukari series, and Emperor (that thing is huge!). My Favorite was the new Yukari Cherry Blossom and the Raden Lacquer. These pens are simply stunning! Will be saving for a while I think...

1.5 hrs there and a great time. Show was somewhat small, but I have to say that I am now hooked!
