I recetly fond this desk set, but I don´t know its name or when where they made. I have this one as it is, and another pen, but with golden nib, although the othr pen wount fit as nice as this one in the cap. thanks all, smile.gif

It's a desk-pen made by the Sheaffer Pen Company, that's all I can tell you...the construction of the nib looks familiar, but I can't place it...

It is a very nice Sheaffer's desk set. The pen has the white dot, which means it was a more expensive ones. It has the inlaid nib, which was first introduced in 1959 (on the PFM, I think, but many later models used it, even nowadays modern pens use it).

What is the filling method used in this pen? That would also help a lot.

OK The filling sysem is cartrige or converter, one of them had a converter and the other is missing.

Think all cartridge pens with the inlaid nib are "Imperials". They're around the late 60's to 70's. Prior to that the PFMs were snorkel fillers. Doesn't look like a "Dolphin" (another cartridge pen in the early 60's) and I don't think they made any for pen sets anyway.

The inlaid nib looks like models made in the 1960's. I have a cartridge model in frosted Stainless steel and I think it is an Imperial. The nib I have is an excellent writer. I hope yours is as good.

Nice colours, never seen a brown one. I have two of it, one with stainless steel nib and a golden nib.

Both have a fine nib, and I´m not very fond of fine nibs, I´d rather use broad. But th are very nice to write with.

Although as I can see the nib is different, The one you are holding (Very nice one) has a different nib, it looks like in two parts. The ones I have is like a Targa nib, but shorter.

He's holding a dolphin nibbed desk pen, yours is like the inlaid nib as the PFM and Targa pens.

David, I would like to see more of the Sheaffer factory pictures. I am sure others do as well.

I've got 400 pictures from my last trip to Ft. Madison. I wouldn't know where to start.

I plan on attending a few pen shows this year (Chicago, Miami, WDC). I'll make up a
collage board or something to have by my tables and possibly make up a few CD's if
time permits.

I'll post a few more factory pictures as time permits. I can't spill the beans all at once ya know. thumbup.gif

Would be great if you can compile those pictures, it would be great if we could download it from somewhere the internet, as I´m in Argentina and is very long way to Miami.

Thanks
