Back to the desk set, very nice. I wish the writing desk I have looked a litle more "antiqued"...
Hey GC -
Not to get all Archetectural Digest guy on y'all, but I think a couple of antiques or classically designed pieces look great in a contemporary interior design.
I have a home office that is about as contemporary as you can get without going off into weird-world: blonde oak curved pedestal desk with radiused edges by Davis, backed by two matching data pod credenzas - Motion chair upholstered in light grey ostrich skin, glass art, iPhone charger/speaker, and a contemporary painting. But balancing that modern clean look are a nineteenth century inlaid knife box converted to a stationery valet, and a contemporary stationery box by Venlo - both of ancient burled walnut. Off to the side is an English Hillwood humidor, also of classic design to counter the contemporary theme. I think that briarwood Visconti desk set would look great on the facing credenza.

Ok, so I did get a little Archetectural Digest on you (bows humbly).
