How do I unstick the lever on my Waterman Ideal pen with a #52 on the bottom and a #2 nib? Also what does this pen look like? I bought this pen in an antique shop and I do not think that the cap matches the pen.

Ad4vs,

Your Waterman #52 is a black hard rubber pen.To unstick the lever, you will need to take the section off. That's
the round black portion of the pen just behind the nib.Using a pair of section pliers and a rubber wrap, unscrew
the section from the barrel(if it seems too tight and you can't remove it from the barrel,it may be held on with
shellac). If you aren't comfortable with trying this method, you might want to send it to a pen repairer(Richard
Binder is one of the best). My point is that if the lever is jammed and won't move, the old rubber sac that was
original to the pen is probably holding things up.

You don't say what the color of the cap and barrel are,but I'm willing to think that one of them is black, and the
other is brown. If that is the case, then one of the two was left in sunlight and that faded that part to an olive drab
color.
